Pay Range: $22-$25/hour
Job Summary
The laborer is responsible for performing many different tasks that require physical labor during all phases on the construction site. This position performs tasks involving physical labor at building, highway, and heavy telecommunication construction projects. May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. May clean and prepare construction sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Driving with a valid driver's license is an essential part of this job unless otherwise instructed.
  • Prepare/set up sites with proper signage, cones, barricades.
  • Loads, unloads, and identifies building materials, machinery, and tools, and distributes them to the appropriate locations, per project plans and specifications.
  • Lead laborer digs ditches or trenches to spot utilities, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, rakes.
  • Locate, spot and pothole existing utilities.
  • Set pedestals and vaults to include cable handling.
  • Operate hand tools and small equipment such as jackhammers, shovels, saws and drills.
  • Ground restoration and general job site cleanup.
  • Maintenance of tools, equipment, and vehicles.
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Valid insurable drivers license
  • Knowledgeable, proactive commitment to safety
  • Ability to shovel consistently and lift between 50- 75 pounds
  • Construction, labor, or landscape experience needed

Salary Description
