You will serve as a Cost Estimator in engineering, working within a multidisciplinary group of architects, engineers, project managers, and construction representatives.
Location: Public Buildings Service, Design & Construction, Project Programs Division, Expert Resources Branch.

The GS-12 salary range starts at $82,830 per year. Your salary will be dependent upon the location for which you are selected. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR ENGINEERS: A Degree in professional engineering OR a combination of college-level education, training, and/or technical experience. For specifics on qualifying education and/or experience - use the following link: Basic Requirements for Engineer Positions.
In addition to the Basic Requirements listed above, you must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is developing and evaluating detailed cost estimates during the design and construction phases of projects for new construction, conversion and alternation of commercial Office Buildings, Courthouses, Warehouses and/or Laboratories. This experience must include using cost estimating software to prepare estimates; overseeing total project estimates for assigned projects; coordinating with other engineers and architects in design development and consulting with construction contractor personnel to resolve difficult and complex unforeseen cost problems during construction.
