What you will be doing:
As our In-House General Counsel, you will work closely with all departments to oversee all day-to-day legal affairs of the organization. This role will be able to balance critical items with confidence and care while advising the organization's Executive Team on the best path forward on all legal matters. This is a brand new role within the organization and we are looking for someone who is eager to collaborate and have a drastic impact on our day-to-day activities.
- Provide legal counsel on all state and federal regulatory issues, ensuring that all company interests are properly represented.
- Develop and recommend company positions on legal issues to mitigate any potential legal risk.
- Identify and assess legal, business, and regulatory risks as well as offer steps to maintain compliance.
- Prepare and review all written legal contracts and documents.
- Provide legal analyses, interpretations, and guidance to maintain compliance with policies and laws.
- Represents and advocates for all of A Merchant Service & Payment Processing Company's interest to governmental agencies, counter parties, and third parties.
- Collaborates with outside counsel as needed
What you bring to the table:
- Juris Doctor degree required
- 2-5 years experience practicing (in private practice or in-house counsel)
- Admitted to the Washington State Bar
- Strong business law experience with some employment law experience would be a plus
- Ability to navigate a wide variety of legal documents such as contracts, employment agreements, and government correspondence
