Job Details:
As Deputy General Counsel, you will be an integral part of our legal team, providing expert advice and guidance on a wide range of real estate and construction law matters. This role requires a dynamic and experienced attorney with a strong background in residential real estate transactions, contract negotiation, and contract management. You will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and vendor/supplier arrangements. You will also be tasked with keeping abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends impacting the real estate development and construction sector. This role requires light travel and the ability to work with and manage outside litigation counsel.
Responsibilities:

• Provide expert legal advice and guidance to our team on a wide range of real estate and construction law matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and vendor/supplier arrangements.
• Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends impacting the real estate development and construction sector.
• Ensure legal and regulatory compliance in all areas of our business.
• Work with and manage outside litigation counsel.
• Provide legal advice and support to our team as needed.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and licensed to practice
• A minimum of 5+ years of experience as an Attorney, with a focus on real estate and construction law.
• Previous experience as an In-House Legal Counsel preferred but will consider an attorney working with real estate clients in a firm setting.
• Proven experience with residential real estate transactions, contract negotiation, drafting and reviewing contracts, and contract management.
• Strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends impacting the real estate development and construction sector.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work with and manage outside litigation counsel.
• Willingness to travel as needed (2-3x a year max in Northwest)
• Ability to provide sound legal advice and support to our team.
• Strong understanding of Real Estate & Development Law.
• In office position with flexibility as needed. 8-5 business hours.
