General Counsel is a multifaceted role and shall serve as our organization’s legal representative. The role of a General Counsel involves the provision of in-house advice on myriad legal matters, including but not limited to contract law, risk management, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, employment law and litigation. In pursuit of protecting the interests of Good Greek, General Counsel will be entrusted to further our organizations mission in support established business goals and objectives.
Core Responsibilities include:

• Defining and implementing internal governance policies to ensure the Company's processes and practices are in full compliance with all relevant law
• Creating, reviewing, and negotiating various legal documents, such as agreements, terms & conditions, privacy policies, and other contractual arrangements
• Ensuring that all business contracts, forms and agreements are in compliance with applicable laws, protecting the Company's interests, and minimizing legal risks
• Opine and provide accurate and timely counsel on a full range of topics, including contractual matters, regulatory compliance, risk management and litigation matters
• Managing disputes, claims, pre-litigation, and litigation matters, including arbitration, and developing effective strategies to resolve legal issues and protect the Company's rights and interests
• Liaising with and external counsel for outsourced legal matters as may be required
• Providing legal guidance, direction and advice on various issues impacting Company
• Offering legal expertise and counsel in matters related to regulatory compliance, intellectual property, employment law, and other relevant areas within the scope of the role General Counsel
• Advising and counseling key team member companywide, including all levels of management on the legal implications of strategic decisions and business activities in pursuit of protecting the Company’s interests
• Ensure compliance with applicable local, state and federal laws impacting the company and our industry
• Evaluate and weigh multiple inputs and impacts of business decisions to ensure appropriate legal protections in in Company’s best interests
• Anticipate issues and estimate risks strategically and proactively to limit risk and liability
• Manage, oversee and engage the claims process, including negotiating, facilitating and drafting settlement agreement
• Assist with the review, research, drafting, updates and/or revision of contracts, addenda, bill of lading and other applicable agreements between Company and clients
• Review, negotiate and opine on vendor contracts and others agreements
• Identify proactive legal solutions that will eliminate and/or mitigate risks
• Zealously defend adverse actions brought against Company
• Perform legal research on various issues in support of Company’s interests and its business dealings
• Provide legal support and guidance to the Human Resources team on employment law related matters
• Draft, revise, update and periodically review employment on boarding documents including but not limited to offers of employment, non-compete agreement, confidentiality agreements and other applicable documents to ensure Company’s interests are fully and appropriately protected
• Keep abreast of legislative changes at the local, state and federal levels impacting Company and its business operations
• Undertake, manage and perform other duties, responsibilities, functions, and/or services consistent with the role of General Counsel, as determined Company

Key Requirements and Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active Bar law license in good standing and authorized to practice in the State of Florida
• Experience in logistics/transportation with a focus on moving and storage, a plus
• Proven experience in general corporate and commercial issues working in-house
• Possess extraordinary legal and strategic judgment, coupled with strong business partnering and business management skills
• Possess an incisive grasp of a broad range of legal issues
• Strong team player
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with contract, employment, and intellectual property law
• Excellent observation and critical thinking abilities
• Proven General Counseling experience in business environment
• In-depth understanding of how legal issues affect organization to develop legal strategies and objectives
• Operates with a high degree of professionalism, ethics and integrity in all circumstances
• Excellent judgement and analytical skills
• First class interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to anticipate legal issues or risks and act proactively
• Exceptional research skills
• Bilingual, a plus
• Able to maintain professional demeanor, appearance and presentation
• Demonstrates a sense of urgency
• Ability to make sound and effective decisions in keeping with Company’s vales
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and to meet deadlines
