Gate Attendant / Greeter - Part Time

Duties:

Staff the main entrance gate of the Upper and Middle School Campus during assigned hours; be consistent and reliable in attendance. Maintain presence/coverage in gate house during assigned hours, utilizing backup for planned breaks (lunch, etc.).

Ensure all visitors to campus provide identification and are processed through the campus monitoring system; providing visitor badges for all non-employees, advising them of School requirements that badge must be visibly worn during the entirety of their stay on campus.

Greet visitors and employees in positive, professional, and courteous manner while maintaining vigilance of campus access & egress.

Be vigilant in surveillance, watch for irregular or unusual activities and conditions and provide necessary intervention.

Direct and assist visitors with campus and parking location. In addition, notify the Main Office, Finance Department, or other appropriate areas to notify them of guests’ or delivery arrivals.

Ensure that all unauthorized people or products do not enter or leave the premises.

Sign out and in all students leaving the campus. Ensure students leaving campus have proper authorization: report unauthorized student departures.

Answering telephones and/or other communications devises (e.g., walkie-talkies) as needed to assist and support campus activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Must maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times due to sensitivity of information.

High school diploma or GED required.

Computer and phone skills required.

Must be people oriented and have good communication skills.

Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision.

Must have knowledge of traffic directional rules.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

Must be able to physically move between guard house and arriving/departing vehicles.

Must be able to physically place/remove traffic cones from traffic lanes.

May be exposed to weather conditions when moving between gatehouse and vehicles.

Must be able to lift, move, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
