The South Carolina Botanical Gardens seeks to hire 2 part-time Garden Visitor Attendants. The Garden Visitor Attendant will work in the South Carolina Botanical Garden gift shop/visitor's center. The gift shop is open daily from 10:00 am- 5:00pm. Duties include welcoming visitors, answering the telephone, responding to visitor questions, sorting and distributing incoming mail, operating a cash register, stocking handouts, light housekeeping and office work. Attendance is sometimes required for special Garden events and/or private event rentals. Other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
75% - Essential - Staff and operate the Fran Hanson Visitor's Center and SC Botanical Gift Shop. Duties include, but are not limited to, orientating Garden Visitors, ringing in sales transactions, stocking merchandise and light cleaning duties.
25% - Essential - Provide on-site coverage during special event/private event rentals.

There are no minimum training or experience requirements for this class.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Expected Salary $8.25 per hour
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
