Job description

Job Description

Null Games is a new, developer-friendly publisher of indie games for PC and console. We look for fun, memorable games that need development funds and marketing to help bring their vision to life. In addition to funding and marketing, we also help with porting games to other platforms, QA, localization, and merchandise, so developers can focus on making the best game possible. Our team is fully remote and based in US timezones, but our games are made all over the world.

We’re looking for an experienced Game Producer to join the Null team full time and manage multiple projects across various developer studios and platforms. Our ideal candidate is passionate about video games and has a proven track record of managing and launching great games.

You’ll work closely with each developer to help bring their games to market, manage and coordinate development, work with vendors and partners, and ensure games meet our quality standards.

What You'll Do

  • Act as the main production liaison between Null and our developer studio partners.
  • Facilitate two-way communication between Null and our studios by updating both sides regularly on status, risks, feedback, opportunities, and potential impact to the production roadmap.
  • Proactively identify problems and propose solutions before they could become potential roadblocks.
  • Manage multiple projects at the same time and prioritize projects based on timing and needs.
  • Ensure high standards by tracking and flagging any bugs or issues during game development. You’ll be responsible for designing, implementing and overseeing in-house processes and procedures to make sure we live up to our promise of delivering high quality indie games to our fans.
  • Partner together with external agencies for multiple needs: help port the games to other platforms, QC our games to catch any issues or bugs, localize the game to different languages, etc.
  • Assist in tracking changes to game content and features during development, and ensuring alignment between Null and partner studios
  • Partner with Null and our developer studios to ensure specific game features are tied to the overall game positioning and goals.
  • Be the main contact with first party platforms and leverage your deep and functional knowledge of their submission processes to help ensure successful release and deployment.
  • Proactively explore and evaluate potential opportunities that help bring our games to a wider audience. For example; work with Twitch and our developers to help develop extensions / tie-ins such as Twitch Drops.
  • Provide input into production budgets, looking to optimize costs and efficiencies throughout the development cycle.
  • Be an internal and external advocate for the game and support as needed at trade shows and PR events.

Requirements

  • 6+ years in a producer role.
  • Deep love for indie games.
  • Deep understanding of game development, software development process and project management are a must.
  • You’re a self-starter, you approach challenges creatively and methodically, seeing them through to final resolution.
  • Superior communication, analysis, and organizational skills.
  • An attentive, collaborative, and innovative spirit.
  • You care about results, but you never lose sight of the passionate and dedicated people behind them.
  • Knowledgeable of the game industry from both a player and developer perspective.
  • You work well autonomously and are willing to find solutions, be curious, and ask questions when needed.
  • Comfortable working with remote tools such as Discord, wikis, video chat, etc.
  • Comfortable working in a small but mighty team.
  • Uncomfortable with predatory business practices, dark patterns, and sleazy marketing techniques.

Benefits

Founded in 2022, Null was created in the spirit of weekends spent losing yourself in a new world and late nights spent conquering enemies with your friends. We publish games that are fun and social, without battle passes or loot boxes. Our games treat players with respect and our publishing agreement has the most developer-friendly terms there are. We partner with developers who share our vision, and, in exchange, we share their risk.

Null is a fully remote company spread across US timezones. We offer competitive salaries, profit sharing, full health, vision, and dental plans, 401(k) with matching, three weeks of mandatory minimum vacation each year, paid holidays, and flexible working hours. As long as your work is getting done and you're showing up on time to appointments, you can create your own schedule.
