Love math and creating games? We have the position for you! Design Works Gaming is looking for an experienced and determined Game Mathematics Manager to join our Team in Scottsdale! The Game Mathematics Manager is involved in the leading development of new slot machine game concepts and will be responsible for designing, programming, documenting, and reviewing the games. The ideal candidate will have an excellent ability to think outside of the box and be genuinely excited and enthusiastic about learning.

Your Role and Impact:

• Provide strong leadership and mentorship to a team of Game Mathematicians.
• Foster a positive and collaborative team culture.
• Collaborate with mathematicians and game designers in the creation and review of original mathematical models, new game themes, and concepts for electronic and physical reel gaming slot machines.
• Develops games by using Excel and programming in C#.
• Mentor Junior Mathematicians on best practices and all aspects of game design.
• Produces and reviews on-screen writing and rules.
• Produces and reviews information for clients and regulators.
• Works with programming/design teams to ensure games are playing correctly.
• Analyzes performance of our own existing games and competitor games.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science.
• 3+ years of professional experience in Gaming Industry
• Experience in applied mathematics and building mathematical models
• Programming experience in C#
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
• Ability to synthesize complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data
• Ability to generate creative solutions; Translates concepts and information into mathematical models; Uses feedback to modify designs; Applies design principles; Demonstrates attention to detail
• Ability to be creative in the context of market demand
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills
• Must have strong communication skills
• Consistently meets deadlines and expectations
• Must be able to work in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven experience in managing development teams.
• Strong understanding of development methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Experience in game design and building mathematical models.
• Ability to apply statistical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, and correlation techniques.
