Children’s Home Society is currently seeking a full-time Teacher's Assistant to provide supervision of and instruction to children as part of a team approach in accordance with the organization’s Mission Statement and Core Values.
What You'll Do:
Your responsibilities as a full-time Teacher's Assistant would include:
- Assist in performing treatment plan and individual education plan methods specific to each child.
- Assist in conducting classroom activities and lesson planning, providing instruction, review, and practice of skills taught by the Classroom Teacher with individual and small groups of students.
- Prepare instructional materials as directed by the Classroom Teacher
- Maintain classroom and/or student records and documentation and contributes data for progress notes and individual treatment plans.
- Assume Classroom Teacher’s duties in his/her absence
- Nurture children through one-on-one communication and care and maintain vigilant supervision.
- Reinforce instructional/behavioral objectives as needed in order to maintain an effective classroom learning environment.
- Maintain the confidentiality of students and their families.
- Follow Agency and School Policies and Procedures.
- Support of Agency Goals
- Perform other duties as assigned

Schedule: Monday-Friday, approx. 7:00am-3:00pm
Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience and education, with a benefits package equaling up to 30% of your wages, as well as yearly merit based raises.
- $20.00 an hour (room for growth & professional development)

Experience/Education/Skills: Minimum of a high school diploma required. Knowledge of and ability to use personal computers and software utilized by office.
Physical Demands and Work Environment: Must be able to physically restrain a child in ways taught by the Agency while being able to verbally communicate to the child and other staff. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
