Holy Cross Preschool is a quality Christian, Early Childhood Program on the west side of Sioux Falls serving children birth to 3rd grade.
Our program has a unique setup and enrollment process and operate on a similar schedule as the school system does. How does a paid Christmas Break, Spring Break or additional time off sound? Our full-time employees receive approximately 20 paid holiday each year in addition to PTO. Holy Cross Preschool & Extended-Care is currently looking to hire a Full or Part -Time Infant/Toddler Teacher Assistantto join our Infant/Toddler teaching team. We are looking for a motivated, energetic, and caring individual to join our teaching team! Our Infant/Toddler program serves children 6 weeks up to 2 years old in our Early Childhood setting. We take pride in the highly qualified teachers who make up our program and it is our priority and mission to provide a quality educational and Christian-based program to the children we serve. Hours/Job Information
- Full-Time or Part -Time Position (30-40 hours)
- Infant/Toddler Program (6 week up to 2 years)
- November 2023 start date
- Hours: vary some - 9- 5:30 (hours of operation 7am – 5:30pm)
Responsibilities of Teacher Assistant
- Provide quality care to the children in a warm Christian environment.
- Assist in implementing curriculum and environment plans developed.
- Supervise and actively participate in hands-on activities, active play, stories, songs/finger plays
- Assist with bottle feeding, meals, nap and transition times
- Engage with the children in both indoor and outdoor activities at program site
- Assist with diaper changing
- Help lead teachers carry out lesson plans encouraging children to discover, explore, and gain developmental skills.
- Interact with children in a positive, supportive manner
- All teachers will warmly greet parents and children daily, console children when insecure or injured, guide and redirect inappropriate behaviors, and support children in learning and development through investigation, exploration, experimentation, open-ended questions, and faith.
Job Knowledge and Skills
- Desired traits for out Infant/Toddler Teacher Assistant position include qualities of maturity, reliability, respect, stability, cooperation, warmth, and energy.
- The ability to set and maintain reasonable limits and show dedication towards the importance of Early Childhood Education.
- Must have a basic understanding of child growth and development and be able to work with various developmental needs of children.
Qualifications
- High school graduate (must be 18 years old)
- Knowledge of Child Growth and Development
- Early Childhood, Child Care, Elementary Experience
- Applicants will need to meet state requirements that apply for child care centers
- Applicants will need to complete background checks required by state licensing
