Sunbelt are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse to join our educational community in Champaign-Urbana, IL area. As a School Nurse, you will play a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of our students, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for learning.
Responsibilities:
- Provide professional nursing care to students and staff in the school health room.
- Assess and address student health needs, including illnesses, injuries, and chronic conditions.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to medical protocols and parental consent.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop individualized health plans for students with special health care needs.
- Monitor and maintain accurate health records for students, including immunization records, health assessments, and emergency contact information.
- Educate students and staff on health-related topics, including preventive care, nutrition, and hygiene.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide first aid as needed.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois.
- Experience in pediatric or school nursing is preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to school health services.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems is a plus.

- Contract position for the 23-24 school year
