Position Overview
Are you passionate about making a positive impact on individuals facing opioid addiction? We are seeking a dedicated Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you will play a vital role in assisting patients through medically-assisted programs and providing essential techniques for managing addiction. This is an opportunity to make a difference through individual and group sessions, crisis management, and collaborative efforts with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
Your Responsibilities:
- Counseling Sessions: Conduct both individual and group counseling sessions to support patients on their recovery journey.
- Coordination: Collaborate with the treatment team to coordinate the care of assigned patients, presenting patient status and concerns effectively.
- Assessment and Planning: Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop and implement personalized treatment plans in accordance with State regulatory requirements.
- Clinical Services: Deliver clinical services, patient care, and education, specializing in opiate addiction counseling.
- Documentation: Showcase excellent documentation and computer skills.
- Additional Duties: Undertake any other related duties as directed by your supervisor.
Your Qualifications:
- Certification: CADC or a commitment to obtaining certification within two years while working under supervision.
- Experience: Previous experience working with individuals facing chemical dependence.
- Attitude: Demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population.
- Technology: Familiarity with an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
- Screening: Successful completion of a satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
