St. Charles Community College is located just west of St. Louis, in the heart of growing St. Charles County. At St. Charles Community College, we have a passion for student success. We invite qualified candidates to apply for our full-time Computer Science Faculty position to begin in the Fall 2024 semester. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, student learning, assessment, and the use of technology in the delivery of instruction. They will be responsible for assessing student performance in coordination with other members of the Computer Science department to evaluate effectiveness of teaching and student learning and will have demonstrated successful outcomes with diverse student populations.

Other responsibilities include teaching and developing courses for both major and non-major students in Computer Science and Information Systems. Possible topics include App and Game Development, Data Analytics, Database Design, Programming, or Project Management. Teaching duties may include in-person, hybrid, and online instruction during the day, evening, and weekend. The minimum teaching load is 15 credit hours per semester.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.

PREFEREED QUALIFICATIONS:

Preferred candidates will have:

  • A Ph.D. or other terminal degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Prior teaching experience at the college level
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Willingness to embrace the use of technology in teaching
  • Evidence of maintaining the highest possible standards in classroom instruction, management, and assessment

Salaries: Instructor $58,315; Assistant Professor $64,238; Associate Professor $70,620 - Rank will be assessed at the time of hire based on years of experience and education based on pre-determined criteria.
