Job description

Position Overview
We are seeking versatile Software Developers to join our team on a contracted basis. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working 20-40 hours per week, fully remotely, and possess a strong foundation in web development technologies. You will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our websites and mobile apps, with the flexibility to set your own hours within reason. We are a scrappy, flexible team valuing open collaboration, adaptability, and the liberty to work from wherever you feel most productive. You will be placed on a team with other developers that will tackle and focus on a wide variety of projects. Familiarity with every platform or language is not a prerequisite, as long as you have a strong willingness and motivation to learn.
About Jones Commerce
At Jones Commerce, we run and grow a small portfolio of websites, most notably HomeTheaterForum.com and BlackjackApprenticeship.com. BlackjackApprenticeship.com was founded in 2008 and it has grown into the premier community and training source for both professional and hobbyist blackjack players interested in legally beating casinos at their own game. In 2022, Jones Commerce acquired HomeTheaterForum.com, a website dedicated to premium content and community for home theater enthusiasts. It is the longest standing community for home theater enthusiasts.
Our Values
  • Customer Focused: While we love growing businesses, we always want to do it in a way that serves the customers and online communities well.
  • Results Oriented: As former card counters and "advantage players," we are data driven and love testing and trying new things. This requires setting ego aside, not getting stuck on one way of doing things, and staying curious about what will yield the best results for the business.
  • Self-motivated: To thrive as part of a remote team means having the ability to be productive without micromanagement. We love collaboration, but much of the work is done individually.
  • Lean and mean: Our core team is currently five people, and we don't see it growing much larger. While we prefer to keep the team small, we are able to grow the websites year over year by focusing on producing excellent results on the right tasks.
