Job Description:
The Nursing Department invites applications for several full-time Tenure Track faculty appointments, including a position in our ACEN-accredited Associate Degree Nursing program and a position within the college's workforce programs. Candidates for the workforce programs will need to be vetted and approved by NYSED.
Major responsibilities include teaching nursing theory, clinical instruction and evaluation, lab instruction and evaluation; curriculum development and evaluation with opportunities to incorporate SIMS activities, student mentoring and advisement to ensure strengthening of knowledge, skills and competencies
The successful candidate will:
- Use appropriate technology to deliver and enhance learning;
- Be innovative in the presentation of lectures and hands-on learning activities that achieve learning outcomes;
- Provide timely feedback on students' assignments and exams throughout each semester;
- Assess learning outcomes and adapt curriculum to meet learning objectives;
- Be responsive to student questions and available for student support;
- Demonstrate insight and encouragement in working with diverse student populations, especially students traditionally underrepresented in higher education;
- Review and validate current affiliation agreements while exploring new opportunities for partnerships for student internships with local and regional community agencies;
- Provide appropriate academic advising to students to support timely degree completion; and,
- Be accountable to meet the needs of the Department and the College, including timely submission of grades and other required materials.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Workforce position (CNA or HHA tract): Bachelor's degree with current NYS RN registration and CPR certification with either three (3) years of current acute-care experience or two (2) years of skilled nursing experience in a long-term care facility or experience caring for the chronically ill, or two (2) years of home health care experience.
Associate's Degree Position (RN tract): Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university with three (3) years current acute-care experience.
Candidates must be qualified to assist students with bedside nursing care and possess a broad knowledge of current and evolving clinical technology with advanced computer skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- College, vocational or proprietary school teaching experience;
- Formal course work in nursing education;
- Experience with designing and conducting clinical laboratory simulations and a working knowledge of operating simulation manikins:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. Bilingual in English and another language will be considered.

- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team;

Additional Information:
The 2023-2024 starting salary for the rank of Assistant Professor is $56,250 with the potential to earn up to $75k in the first year and potential future earnings of $90-100K thereafter. Salaries for 2024-2025 are not yet available.
