Front Service Clerk/Bagger

JOB TITLE: Service Clerk (Bagger) DEPARTMENT: Front End

PURPOSE

Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service. Bags customer’s purchases and provides carryout

service as requested. Gathers carts from the parking lot and returns them to their proper location in the

store. Cleans up miscellaneous spills throughout the store. Cleans restrooms and keeps them well stocked

with toilet paper, soap and paper towels. Keeps bag racks full and returns overstock to its proper place.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring concern and patience in all

customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.

• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the associate’s

designated department or elsewhere in the store.

• Genuinely thanks each customer and invites them back.

• Assists customers by: (examples include)

o escorting them to the products they’re looking for

o securing products that are out of reach

o loading or unloading heavy items

o making note of and passing along customer suggestions or requests

o performing other tasks in every way possible to enhance the customers shopping experience.

• Places merchandise in bags and cart in a neat, organized fashion.

• Provide carry-out services to customers when appropriate, placing orders in vehicle using proper stacking

techniques.

• Retrieves grocery carts from the parking lot.

• Retrieves cases of bags from bag storage areas to maintain proper supply at each register.

• Returns damaged products to proper department or receiving area.

• Returns milk crates with empty bottles to Dairy department.

• Eliminates spills and maintains clean floors and surfaces of the store in accordance with company safety

and sanitation policies.

• Maintains premises, including shoveling snow, salting walkways, sweeping, mopping, and maintaining

landscaping as directed.

• Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.

• Understands and practices proper sanitation procedures and ensures the janitorial area is always clean,

neat and organized according to “5S” standards.

• Removes trash in a timely manner.

• Maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.

• Adheres to all company policies, procedures, Safety and Sanitation regulations, and individual store

guidelines.

• Reports to work when scheduled and on time.

• Protects associates and customers by removing potential hazards from the sales floor and parking lot in a timely manner.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 12 per week
