Job Summary:
Manages all operational activities of the properties Front Office to provide the highest standard of courteous service while meeting and exceeding profit levels. Provides overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Front Office department and staff. Interviews, hires, trains, supervises, evaluates, counsels, and administers progressive disciplinary procedures for Front Office staff. Interacts positively with guests and takes action to resolve issues to the satisfaction of guest/resort. Generally, manages a medium staff of 5 to 10 hourly employees.

- The expected range is $66,650 - $77,905 + annual bonus
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure that Vail Resort’s guest service standards are being applied consistently and departmental policies and procedures are followed.
- Must remedy all guest complaints or issues.
- Must coach and discipline associates.
- Intercept all guest issues and respond directly with guests on behalf of the property.
- As a producer of talent, build high performing teams and develop leaders to improve leadership effectiveness within current roles and to prepare for increased responsibility and succession throughout the enterprise.
- Accountable for development of a high performing, ‘one team’ culture that puts the safety of our employees and guests first.
- Oversee Rental Program operations of Front Office.
- Work closely with Facilities, Owner Relations, Revenue Management, Reservations and Resort Sales to maximize revenue and occupancy.
- Directly manage the establishment of goals, development plans and the evaluation of performance for direct reports.
- Recruit, interview, hire train and coach direct reports and other team members as necessary.
- Resolve escalated guest and owner complaints using service recovery skills and tools.
- Manage payroll weekly schedules for all Front Office staff and be within budgeted CPOR.
- Review the current day's expected arrivals and check all VIP and owners special request reservations to ensure that they are pre-registered.
- Ensure all checklists are updated and are completed.
- Conduct interviews and reference checks as well as organize and administer on-the-job training for new employees.
- Review all guest folios for proper payment and credit card charges.
- Daily review of applicable paperwork.
- May be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 4+ years lodging and hospitality experience preferred.
- 3+ years leadership experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, computer experience on a PMS systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English required. Ability to read, comprehend and write complex correspondence and effectively communicate with guests, homeowners and employees using diplomacy and tact required.
- Working knowledge of front-of-the-house and back-of-the-house operations.
- Current US Driver’s License.
- May be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
- Strong customer service skills – required.
- Previous experience in Property Management or hotel – preferred.
The expected pay range is $66,650 - $71,500 + annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
