Summary: Middlesex Orthopedic & Spine Associates is seeking a full-time Front Desk Specialist to join the team in our Newington, CT location. We are a growing practice with ample opportunity for career growth. Competitive salary and benefits are offered.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Ensures proper check-in and check-out.
- Works with patients to complete Kiosk.
- Monitors the waiting room to ensure patients are seen in a timely manner.
- Works with Medical Assistants to obtain information if needed.
- Scans Insurance cards.
- Collects patient balances, co-pays, cash, and carry items. Posts and allocates money.
- Works orders tab, status reports, no-show reports, various scanning.
- Schedules follow-up appointments and reviews information on various testing, referrals, etc. with patients at check-out.
- Provides outstanding customer service and assistance to patients.
- Monitors supplies and orders as needed.
- Must be able to work independently.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical Specialist office experience preferred.
- Ability to use computerized systems.
- Must be detail-oriented and accurate.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of different insurance carriers and plan types is a plus.
