We are seeking an energetic, highly organized Medical Receptionist/Customer Service Specialist to join our office and assist our Lead Front End Coordinator. You must be a dynamic, friendly, multi-tasker, able to work in a fast-paced team environment.
Duties include, but are not limited to: Greeting and checking in patients, assisting with insurance eligibility verification, answering telephones, scheduling and confirming appointments, assisting with patients checking out, working referrals, and collecting co-pays and fees.
Our ideal candidate:
- Reads, speaks, understands, and writes proficiently in English;
- Works independently and is self-directed, but enjoys working in a team environment;
- Reacts calmly and effectively in high pressure and emergency situations;
- Has experience with multi-line telephones and other office machines;
- Has a minimum typing speed of: 35-40 wpm;
- Is proficient with computers as well as applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook
- Experience with medical software preferred;
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred;
- Must be able to maintain highly confidential information.
Education:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Post high school education in office/clerical coursework preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum one year of medical reception/administrative preferred, but not required
