Description
Performs duties related to the successful operations of Recreation Services at the Community Activity Center, to include greeting guests, cash handling and transactions, registering participants, answering phones, responding to guest questions, assisting in room/gym set-ups, and enforcing Community Activity Center rules and regulations. Furthermore, this position will be tasked with resolving customer complaints, performing simple facility rentals, authorizing registration overrides, and assisting with part-time staff supervision and training.
Examples of Duties
- Greets Community Activity Center guests, answers questions regarding the Community Activity Center and/or the Town of Flower Mound, and answers phones.
- Registers participants for classes and sells Community Activity Center memberships and programs.
- Performs facility rentals and booking of Community Activity Center birthday parties.
- Provides guided tours of the Community Activity Center to increase membership sales.
- Assists with running errands around Town, such as delivering flyers or picking up product.
- Assists full-time staff in the supervision and training of new Recreation Aide part-time staff.
- Responsible for opening and/or closing the building as required.
- Responsible for working after-hours rentals as required.
- Responsible for maintaining inventory, supplies, and ensures assigned area meets required standards.
- Performs miscellaneous administrative tasks to include filing, organizing, etc.
- Supports other areas within the Community Activity Center by assisting with special events, aquatic programs, facility rentals, and facility coverage issues in the absence of staff.
- Attends mandatory training and in-service meetings.
- Informs supervisor of all work-related activities.
- Adheres to the personnel, safety, and divisional policies and procedures of the Town.
- Assists co-workers and other divisions as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is required.
- American Red Cross CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications are required within 30 days of hire date.
- Must have a valid driver's license and driving record must be in compliance with Town policy.
Must submit to and pass a post-offer, non-regulated drug test and thorough background checks (including criminal history).
Desired Qualifications
- Must have excellent leadership, organizational, and communicative skills, both oral and written.
- Must be able to maintain an effective and pleasant working relationship with citizens, general public, employees, and volunteers.
- Must be able to perform simple mathematical equations with cash handling and transactions.
- Computer proficiency is required.
- At least 6 months previous customer service experience is preferred.
- Must be able to work various hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
- Must be able to talk, see, hear, read, and work in adverse environmental conditions.
- Must be able to perform strenuous physical activities to include carrying, driving a vehicle, grasping/handling/feeling, kneeling, regularly lifting up to 50 lbs. of various recreational and athletic equipment and occasionally lifting up to 110 lbs. of various recreational and athletic equipment, listening, pulling, pushing, reaching, sitting, standing, stooping, talking, and walking.
Regular Part Time employees accrue 3.34 hours of vacation leave and 4 hours of sick leave per month. All regular employees who are scheduled to work a minimum of one thousand (1,000) hours annually will participate in the Texas Municipal Retirement System.
