SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Front Desk Attendant is responsible for greeting and registering guests and checking guests out of the hotel in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. This position may include day, swing, and overnight shifts (midnight to 8am).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Greets guests and completes the registration process to include, but not limited to, inputting and retrieving information from the computer, confirmation of guest information and room rate, selection of rooms, coding electronic keys, promoting marketing programs, providing a welcome packet and ensuring guest knows location of room.
- Assists guests with check-out including, but not limited to, ensuring rooms and services are correctly accounted, using the point-of-sale system, handling money, processing credit and debit cards, accepting and recording various forms of payment, converting foreign currency, making change and processing gift certificates and cards.
- Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of hotel information including, but not limited to, room categories, room rates, packages, promotions, the local area and other general product knowledge and answer guest questions and inquiries.
- Uses up-selling techniques to promote hotel services and facilities and to maximize room occupancy.
- Responds to guest inquiries and requests and resolve issues in a timely, friendly and efficient manner.
- Fields guest complaints, conduct research and resolve and negotiate solutions for guest satisfaction.
- Receives, inputs, retrieves and relays messages to guests.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Must be 18+ years of age.
- One (1) year of hotel Front Desk experience.
- Legally able to work within State and Federal guidelines.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Continuous standing and walking throughout the duration of each shift; no sitting unless on break. Pushing, pulling, bending and stooping frequently.
- Bending, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds frequently and without assistance.
- Constant face-to-face interactions with customers, requiring speaking and a professional demeanor.
- Maintain a near, well-groomed appearance.
- Ability to multi-task and remain positive in busy working conditions.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- For Full-Time employees, expect to work an 8-hour shift on average, including weekends and holidays.
- For Part-Time employees, expect to work hours as needed / potentially a staggered shift including weekends and holidays.
- Comply with the brand and hygiene policies.
