Front Counter Associate (Part Time)

Old Town Market is now employee-owned! We provide quality meat and seafood cuts in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Started in 1977, we provide customers with a friendly face as they pick up their weekly order. Additionally, Old Town Market makes proprietary rubs and spices, and delicious house made sausages.

Position: Front Counter Associate (Part Time)

The Front Counter Associate is the primary point of interaction for our customers and the outward face of Old Town Market. Providing excellent customer service in greeting the customer, taking their order, and completing the purchase process are the priority.

Responsibilities:

• Acknowledge, greet, and engage all guests

• Stock, rotate and faces product, prevent shrink and product damage and follow code dating procedures

• Perform receiving duties: breaking-down loads, cutting cases, stacking, pricing and marking merchandise, organizing cooler and storage areas and refrigerating products immediately

• Perform sales and cash functions in the POS in an efficient and accurate manner

• Open and set up butcher block case and closes and pulls down butcher block case

• Perform store opening and/or closing functions at the front end based on assigned shift

• Assisting butcher team in tasks required to fulfill customer orders

• Restocking shelves, packaging cuts and maintaining cleanliness

• Other duties as assigned or requested

Requirements:

• Retail experience preferred (but not required)

• High school degree or equivalent preferred (but not required)

• Exceptional customer service skills

• Ability to think logically and with basic math aptitude

• Must be able to provide self-transportation to the store

• Good time management skills

• Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist, or lifting items as required

• Frequently lifting and carrying items that weigh up to 50 pounds

• Working in refrigerated and freezer area in which temperatures may range from -10 degrees Fahrenheit to 36 degrees Fahrenheit

• Must be 18 years of age or older

• Willingness to learn

Schedule:

• Required 8-hour shifts on Friday and Saturday

• Permanent schedule will flex Tues - Thursday but will be a min of 4 hours Wed, Thurs

• Targeted Hours: 25 - 35

• Full-time availability required during holiday season [the week of Thanksgiving and December] (Tue-Sat)

Compensation:

• $15/hr
