Job description

The ideal candidate will have experience managing delivery routes and driver schedules, manage time off & vacation schedules and cover open routes. Must be able to drive a 26-foot box truck with a lift-gate at afternoon/evening/night in all types of weather conditions delivering fresh grab, and go products like milk, water, juices, commissary products, doughnuts, muffins, cookies & other delicious products produced at our family bakery to UDF stores in the Greater Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton, & Kentucky areas.
Depending on the route, shifts start between 1:00pm and 3:00pm. Routes are scheduled 10-hour shifts but could take longer depending on weather & traffic. Drivers are scheduled 4 days a week with a 5th day scheduled as ON Call.
There is quarterly safety bonus of $500 for no accidents.
Must be able to push, pull, lift carts, & deliver stacks of milk, water, juice, & commissary products delivered in plastic milk crates using a 2-wheel dolly weighing as much as 200 pounds out of the box truck, onto the liftgate & into the back door of each UDF store cooler being delivered. Must be able to read delivery tickets and complete logbooks and other paperwork accurately.
Qualifications and Experience include, but not limited to:
• Have a valid driver's license (CDL not required) with a driving record that meets company standards.
• Drivers must obtain a DOT medical card.
• Previous experience driving a 26-foot box truck is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal
• Able to effectively communicate with Management, Supervisors and team members.
• Must pass a criminal background check, MVR and pre-employment drug screening.
• High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have experience managing routes and driver schedules.
• Requires the ability to read delivery tickets and complete logbooks and other paperwork accurately.
• Ability to handle constant physical workload.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment.
• Read, write, and communicate in English.
• Able to work with computers, read order sheets, etc.
• Be on time and willing to work overtime when necessary.
• Be able to train, lead and be a mentor to all team members.
• Previous experience in a delivery role specific to food production preferred but not required.
