Freight Agent

```Job Overview```
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Freight Agent with an existing customer base to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to work independently out of a established terminal with access to warehousing, crossdocking and yard space to enhance your business model. Premier sells OTR and LTL services as well. We have a dynamic experienced team to support the business model.

```Duties```
- Coordinate and manage the transportation of goods from origin to destination
- Ensure compliance with regulations and other relevant industry standards
- Develop and maintain relationships with carriers, suppliers, and customers
- Utilize supply chain management principles to optimize transportation routes and minimize costs
- Collaborate with sales teams to develop pricing strategies and secure new business
- Utilize NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) services for ocean freight shipments
- Plan and schedule transportation using transportation management systems (TMS)
- Dispatch drivers and track shipments using AS400 or similar software
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve issues, and provide exceptional customer service
- Utilize EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) for efficient communication with partners

- Strong understanding of supply chain management principles
- Proven experience in sales management within the freight industry
- Familiarity with NVOCC services for ocean freight shipments
- Proficient in transportation planning and utilizing TMS software
- Excellent customer relationship management skills
- Experience with AS400 or similar software for dispatching purposes
- Familiarity with EDI for efficient communication with partners
