We are a Houston-based transportation company looking to start a brokerage arm. If you are a business-minded self-starter with the industry expertise, organizational prowess, a solid book of business and a desire to build a brokerage from scratch, this is your opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Help set up and manage a Freight Brokerage, including the administrative and compliance segments
- Develop and maintain relationships with shippers and manufacturers to secure dedicated freight volume
- Negotiate rates and contracts with shippers and carriers to ensure cost-effective transportation solutions
- Utilize transportation management systems to optimize sales, routing and scheduling
- Coordinate and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and providing updates on shipment status
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities
- Generate sales leads and actively pursue new business prospects
Qualifications:
- Five years of broker/agent experience in a reputable brokerage firm
- Brokerage administration experience necessary
- Familiarity with Houston-area shippers and manufacturers
- Mastery in rates and contracts negotiation
- Expertise in carrier relations
- Great customer service, relationship-building and organizational skills
- Solid book of business
- Desire and ability to build a Freight Brokerage from the ground up
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management or a similar field desired
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
