Job description

About BoomPop, Inc.

Who we are
BoomPop is on a mission to bring people together. We make it easy for you to have fun and connect on a human level with the people you work with, no matter where you are.

We launched with amazing virtual events and quickly expanded to IRL (think: offsites, retreats, client summits, annual kickoffs) as well as a single platform that makes it easy for any company to manage everything in one place. Although we're barely 3yrs old, we have over 5,000 clients (Google, Apple, Netflix, Nike, Accenture) and have brought over 200,000 people together so far. And we're just getting started.

Umm... corporate events?
Oh YES, corporate events. We, as humans, spend of our time working. And asleep. The majority of our life is spent with people at work! The tectonic shift that is remote work has left 57% of office space vacant (yeah...$1.7T of annual spend: poof), and companies such as Airbnb, Salesforce, Shopify, and Reddit are all adopting the new mantra: "Offsites are the new office." Companies around the world need help bringing their teams together and our goal is to make planning a company kickoff, client summit, or retreat as easy as buying products on Amazon. Watch. Us. Do. It. (Or actually, come help.)

Group travel pre-pandemic was already 40% of the $800B corporate travel industry and it's absolutely exploding as companies shift facilities spend to IRL events. (by the way, 73% of clients are managers planning events for the first time in their careers ... shouldn't be their job.)

Mission - Essence of the Job:
This job's core purpose is to 1) act as a business partner to internal team leaders, 2) understand BoomPop's data innately, 3) produce ongoing dynamic dashboards, reports, and analyses, 4) provide a proactive opinion based on insights you generate

You will serve as a key strategic thought partner to the VP of Finance, helping ensure we accurately track progress against plan, across all departments. You will identify and flag issues as they arise and be excited about tackling solutions to fix them.

Outcomes:
Within the first week of this job, you'll have dug into all of BoomPop's various data sources and begun outlining your version of a new comprehensive dashboard.

Within 30 days of this job, your dashboard will be live. You will have already identified challenges with our data and will have a detailed project plan in place with how to fix it. You will be intimately familiar with BoomPop's operating forecast model and partner with the VP of Finance to improve and optimize model structure and assumptions.

Within 60 days, your foundation will be built, and you will transition to proactively identifying opportunities, risks, and challenges for the team. You will lead monthly meetings with business leaders, walking them through key performance indicators and ROI-based frameworks. You will help leadership to understand how to interpret analysis results and improve operating performance.
Qualifications:
    • 3-5 years of relevant experience in a highly analytical role, ideally in a financial operating role within a fast-growing technology or healthcare company and/or at a top-tier management consulting firm or investment bank.
