FP&A Analyst

Intermountain Electronics, Inc. (IE) is seeking an FP&A Analystat our Price, Utah facility. Relocation assistance is available.

IE is a leading provider of custom engineered and manufactured process, and electrical systems to the mining, oil & gas, and power/utility industries. IE's turnkey products are generally mobile - mounted on skids or in portable e-houses. Our products include portable power/generators, substations, electrical control rooms (MCC's/VFD's/switchgear), water-flood/disposal buildings, compressor skids, metering equipment, mining power skids, and other products used in the energy, oil and gas, and mining sectors.

Core Responsibility

As a Financial Analyst you will gather data about the company's finances, develop and contribute to financial models, and create in depth summaries to help guide financial decision making. Additionally, you will assist the VP of Finance in providing insights on forecasting, scenario planning, budgeting, and other ad hoc analysis..

The ideal candidate will have: BS degree in Accounting or Finance, with at least two (2) years of experience analyzing business questions in Excel, providing recommendations, and putting together slides and presentations to convey clear messages to stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

Financial Analysis and Planning

1. Prepare monthly financial reporting including variance and financial statement analysis.
2. Clearly communicate a cohesive and concise story around business drivers behind financial data and potential implications on future results.
3. Build sophisticated in-depth financial models from scratch to enable business planning and decision-making.
4. Conduct complex analysis, synthesizes, and summarizes implications to business, influencing business partners using analytics and business understanding.
5. Perform customer and product profitability analysis to help inform future quoting and sales direction.
6. Identify opportunities to drive revenue growth, margin expansion, and cost savings improvement.
7. Support annual budget processes and quarterly forecasting processes, incorporating business initiatives, economic trends, and operational effectiveness.
8. Assist in the management of business stakeholder relationships at every level of the organization.
9. Partner with company departments, key stakeholders, and remote locations regarding finance and strategic planning and execution of business analytics for IE business initiatives, while identifying financial drivers, and maintaining quality data.
10. Monitor and track forecast performance versus latest trends and latest business estimates.
11. Continuously improve the forecasting process and reporting to deliver realistic, transparent, and assumption-driven forecasts for informed decision-making.
12. Challenge assumptions and ensure that the right forecasting methodologies are being used.
13. Provide analysis and decision support regarding current and past year budget execution to assist future programming and budgeting, as well as analysis and process improvement recommendations to support current budget resource management decision-making.

You should have

• B.S. degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited university or college

• At least 2 years of experience, analyzing business questions in Excel, providing recommendations, and putting together slides and presentations to convey the message to stakeholders.

• Ability to work independently and drive processes to completion
• Able to handle multiple assignments and manage competing priorities with tight deadlines
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a solution-oriented mindset.
• Excellent presentation skills. Able to explain and present complex issues in a simple, succinct manner
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to promote collaboration and teamwork
• Experience working with ERP systems (Epicor a plus)
• Advanced Excel and Excel modeling skills
• Experience with SQL is helpful but not required
• Experience with software packages like Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, etc… is a plus
