Whole Cities' mission is to improve individual and community health through collaborative partnerships, education, and broader access to nutritious food in the communities we serve. We amplify locally led efforts to increase fresh, healthy food access through community-determined grants. Additionally, we work with organizations in communities across the U.S. in partnership with passionate WFM Team Members through a unique Community First Grant program.
The Foundations Program Manager will play a critical role in managing and improving the processes needed to support our growing community of partners. This includes overseeing the day-to-day operations of our application, payment, and reporting systems as well as communicating with our grant partners and analyzing data to improve support for our partners and share their successes. This position is ideal for a candidate who has a detail-oriented mind, strong communication skills, and a passion for expanding healthy food access.
Location: This role is based out of Austin, Texas with a 3-day hybrid office model.
Responsibilities:
- Support grant application and selection processes across multiple grant programs.
- Manage grant contract, payment, and reporting processes.
- Identify and respond to community partners’ requests for improved processes and tailored support.
- Track the success of our partners’ work and evolve evaluation tools as needed.
- Work with Director of Programs to prepare program related materials for annual audit, taxes, and bi-annual board of directors meeting.
- Collaborate with team to improve grant implementation systems and data utilization processes.
- Support multi-media programmatic storytelling and share community partners’ success with multiple stakeholders.
- Research potential partnerships and process improvements as needed.
- Potential grant administration support for Whole Kids and Whole Planet projects
Skills required:
- Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of professional experience or 5+ years of professional experience
- Personal commitment to undoing racism and eagerness to work on a multi-racial, anti-racist team.
- Affinity for creating and improving organized and efficient systems.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish rapport with multiple stakeholders and a diversity of individuals, communities, organizations, and teams.
- Demonstrated ability to organize, manage, and analyze large data sets.
- Proven capacity to manage multiple projects at once.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Consistent attention to detail.
- Resourceful problem solver and creative thinker able to work both autonomously and with a team.
- Eagerness to work in an evolving organization where every role includes a full range of responsibilities from hands on to strategic.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience with grant management or project management (a plus).
