We are seeking a Forklift Operator to join our corrugated warehouse team. The Forklift Operator is responsible for proactively partnering with Shipping & Receiving, Production, and Machine Operators, to anticipate teammates' needs for raw materials, learn where inventory is located, make sure that all units are banded properly and have a clear visible load tag on them when being loaded with no broken or missing straps on the units.
This position requires a dedication to safety and careful driving practices, maximizing speed and efficiency, and ensuring that materials and products are always in the right location at the right time. The ideal candidate has a proven track record as a Forklift Operator and an excellent safety record.
```Duties:```
- Stage units in the warehouse and load/unload trailers safely and efficiently.
- Performs last visual quality inspection on items so that units and truck counts are accurate on the trailer/carrier and also that all paperwork is accurate using Top Gun technology
- Move pallets and crates from one location to another
- Monitor roll stock, pads, and other materials for damages, shortages, or quality control issues and report on those issues
- Maintain accurate inventory records and activity logs
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, legal guidelines, and company policies
- Assist in maintaining a safe and organized work environment
- Operates wrapping equipment when necessary
- Assists Shipping & Receiving, box room production, machine operators and material handlers to balance the workload, organize warehouses, and perform general cleaning
- Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
Qualifications:
- Able to bend, lift, kneel, and stand for long periods of time (throughout shift)
- Able to read, write, and speak English, along with solid communication skills
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, with varying temperatures based on season, around machinery, and heavy forklift traffic
- Able to work with a diverse group of people and be a team player
- Use a hand-held RF device (training provided)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator, preferably in a corrugated plant setting
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems and processes
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety protocols for operating heavy equipment
- Ability to perform basic equipment repairs and maintenance tasks
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet productivity targets
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
