As a Forklift Operator at Steel Technologies, your main responsibility is to ensure material is being moved throughout the plant according to production standards. Safety is the utmost importance in this role and we’re looking for someone who we can count on to perform the job safely and efficiently. We depend on this position in order to maintain production flow and ensure daily goals are met.
How you’ll contribute to our company:
- Handle and move equipment from packaging, scales, shipping, and storage as needed
- Package material to meet customer specifications
- Safely store and handle material without damage, maintaining organization
- Maintain proper flow of material
- Housekeeping of finished goods work area
- Load and unload materials as required and handle any material/equipment movement required by forklift
- Maintain production and quality standards as set by supervisor
- Assist other machine personnel to maintain production flow and assure productivity
- Ability to operate an overhead crane as needed

Here’s what is needed to be successful:
- Ability to use tape measures, micrometers and calipers
• Ability to comply with safety rules and requirements
• Ability to pass and maintain forklift licenses
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
