Forklift Operator/Shipping Department
All Shifts Available - 1st Shift 5:30 am to 5:00 pm
($17.50 per hour)
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Forklift responsibilities includes safety, quality of product produced, quantity of product produced, all reports and or data collection, and effective operation of the machine center. Assists the machine center as needed to maximize the setup and operation of the machine center in a timely manner. All individuals assigned to the Forklift Operator is to work together in a safe, efficient and effective manner to insure the production of a quality product. To achieve this level of operations all employees are required to comply with all applicable Plant and OSHA safety rules.
Normal Duties include the following:
Maintain the B rail system, including strapping, placing on pallets, and any customer request regarding safe transport of units.
Full truck inspection prior to each use.
Place stock on the lines for machine centers
Place units in an orderly fashion in the warehouse according to order number
Remove finish cartons as required by the machine centers
Remove waste sheets and cartons from machine centers and follow waste reporting system
Load trailers as specified in paperwork or directed by supervisor
Unload deliveries and transport to specified locations
Transport materials throughout the plant in a safe manner
Reprint load tags
Stretch wrap product
Inventories materials on work floor and supply workers with materials
Ensures all units are scanned into correct location
Inspects bales for damage
Receiving Forklift Drivers sign deliver receipts wen truck is unladed.
All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have demonstrated the ability to perform each normal duty satisfactory in this classification and all lower classifications in this line of progression. Also, the ability to learn to perform the normal duties in the next classification in this line of progression. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
License: Employee must have successfully completed the appropriate training programs for the operation of powered industrial trucks.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
Preferred- 1 - 4 years: Forklift Experience
Education
Preferred- HS Equivalency or better
- High School or better
