SalaryFootwear News is hiring a News Reporter to create content for Footwearnews.com aligned with what readers are searching for. This role requires a journalist with a demonstrated interest in driving traffic while reporting on footwear across a broad range of categories, including sneakers, fashion, lifestyle shoes, retail news, women’s market, designers and red carpet style. This position is for a writer-reporter who thinks creatively, critically, and analytically about content that attracts a high-volume readership and authentically reaches its audience. Coverage includes news in real-time in addition to feature stories, interviews and evergreen reporting. This role is based in New York.
Responsibilities
- Daily production of stories.
- Ability to take direction and feedback, and manage time efficiently with a fast-paced workload.
- Achieve robust volume and traffic targets.
Requirements
- Must have demonstrated an understanding of metrics-based strategies.
- Commitment to covering content with success as defined by traffic performance.
- Journalistic excellence at recognized publications with 4+ years of experience.
- Attention to detail, including following specific best practices that directly impact traffic.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and Google Trends.
- Can-do, positive, cooperative, collaborative and highly motivated attitude.
Typical Salary: 65K-70K.Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits.
