Under close supervision, the Food Service Worker will perform duties as a cashier, line cook, prepares and assists in the cooking of food using specialized equipment. Serves and distributes food. Assist with banquet events. Cleans kitchen, kitchen equipment, and dining areas. The Food Service Worker also performs other job-related duties as assigned.

- Maintains appropriate temperature of hot and cold foods prepared for serving
- Stores food according to proper temperature guidelines in the appropriate area

- Follows approved portion control guidelines in a routine manner
- Replenished food supplies and breaks down service area according to established guidelines
- Places and removes condiments, napkins and other items on/from tables as instructed
- Reports maintenance needs immediately to supervisor
- Operates and maintains equipment according to manufacturer's specifications and guidelines
- Cleans equipment (mixer, fryer, grill, oven, etc.) after use and prepares equipment for re-use by the time of next shift
- Cleans counter tops, sinks and floors after use and prepares for re-use according to established methods and procedures
- Demonstrates knowledge of proper cleaning methods and uses the correct chemicals
- Understands and demonstrates knowledge of sanitation and safety practices
- Effectively washes and scours all cooking utensils after each use
- Operates dishwashing equipment according to manufacturer's specifications and established guidelines
- Adheres to food safety regulations
- Demonstrates cost awareness in the use of property and of supplies
- Collects money and gives correct change to paying patrons of the dining facility, ensuring accuracy and safety of sales receipts
- Follows established inventory procedures
- Signs receipt for cash drawer after verifying the amount received at the beginning of the meal service period
- Validates product/items price lists prior to serving period for each meal. Maintains price listing in cash collection area
- Balances money against register after each meal. Immediately reports any discrepancies to supervisor
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED AND two (2) years of supervisory experience in a Food Service operation at the level of shift supervisor;
OR
One (1) year of experience at the lower level Food Svc Spec 2 (FFT011) or position equivalent.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Safe Serv Certified
