Cardinal Ritter Senior Services (CRSS), one of South County's largest independent, assisted living, skilled nursing and rehabilitation nonprofit senior living communities, seeks an experienced Food Service Manager to join our growing team.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implements and maintains certification requirements, sanitation standards and safety practices as related to department.
- Maintains budget compliance.
- Assist in the implementation of policies and procedures to improve services.
- Oversees printing all resident's tray tickets for each meal.
- Preparers staffing schedules so that department is adequately covered.
- Maintains attendance control records on all staff members.
- Inputs staff schedule into time keeping system.
- Maintains food storage and food temperature records.
- Attends Resident Town Hall meetings and facilitates Food Committee meeting.
- Provides leadership and direction to Dietary Leads and Dietary Aides.
- Approves Activities Director planned food items for resident functions and ensures they are delivered on time.
- Implements menus and modified diets based on resident preferences and cost as directed by Dietitian.
- Plans and implements procedures to maintain and improve quality of food and service to residents.
- Cooperates with Human Resources to comply with policies and procedures to HR.
- Interviews, hires, disciplines and terminates employees according to HR policies.
- Approves timesheets for payroll and submits sheets on time to the Payroll Department.
- Coordinates with Dietitian and Assistant Dietitian on residents' special food requests, likes, dislikes or allergies.
- Executes disaster plans as related to Food Service.
- Conducts Food Service Department meetings/in-services monthly.
- Leads Dietary Team in Daily Huddles for each Meal Time.
- Establishes communication and effective working relationships with other departments.
- Implements food and supply purchasing system.
- Meets with building Administrator regularly.
- Keeps up-to-date on new developments in Food Service management.
- Responsible for ensuring staff follows HR Policies and Procedures.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is in working order.
- Conducts daily sanitation inspections.
- Assigns cleaning duties fairly to staff daily.
- Facilitates quick meal delivery times throughout the facility.
- Enters and submits COUPA orders to Dietitian for approval.
- Holds department huddles prior to all meals to keep staff informed of daily plan.
- Attends department head meeting and communicates with other department heads as needed to provide excellence in Food Services.
- Purchases resident's special food items from Dierbergs are as directed by Dietitian to ensure resident nutrition needs are met in cost effective manner.
- Completes Quality project as designated by facility Administrator.
- Attends Quality meetings.
- Ensures cooks and prep cooks are following standardized recipes and oversees daily production.
- Coaches all dietary leads and aides to perform to the best of their ability.
- Promotes a positive attitude throughout the department that stimulates high morale
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Must have and maintain Certification as a Dietary Manager.
- Food Service Sanitation certification required.
- Must have 2-3 years experience in healthcare Food Service supervision /management setting.
