The FSQ Project Specialist will lead process validation studies, new product validations and line studies for ongoing improvement and compliance to regulatory requirements. This role will support the Food Safety and Quality department needs as it arises. Based on experience and training the FSQ Project Specialist may be the delegate for some FSQA manager duties.
Role and Responsibilities
• Adhere to all safety, GMP, and quality policies and regulations. Promote a culture of Safety by working with peers to identify and correct work place safety issues.
• Conduct verification and maintenance of the Food Safety and quality systems, hazard analysis and sanitation processes, prerequisite programs, manufacturing processes, plant environment and finished product.
• Collaborates with operations on the initiation of corrective action and preventative measures when necessary.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory, customer and facility Food Safety and quality requirements and completion of corrections and corrective actions.
• Assist with relevant facility and regulatory Food Safety focused audits.
• Coordinate with the Food Safety team and assisting with the Food Safety management system and management review.
• Assist with the Food Safety management system compliance to appropriate government regulations and BRC standards.
• Lead assigned projects (Food Safety or Organizational focused) to ensure milestones are met within expected timeframes.
• Become the SME for Food Safety related digital systems (Redzone, etc) and promote the use of a paperless reporting and tracking system.
• Investigate and follow up on Food Safety incidents that occur in the plant to ensure they are reported and that corrective action and permanent corrections are taken.
• Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Develop and Provide QA/Food Safety Training activities for plant personnel (new hire, ongoing Food Safety training, etc.).Participate in Six Sigma/Lean continuous improvement projects
• Educates employees on Food Safety and BRC standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong computer skills and Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Minimum of two years of related work experience.
