Job Title: Quality Engineer II--Food Safety and Compliance
Location: Richmond, VA
Duration: 6 months
Timing: 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM
Job Description:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for evaluating, and monitoring existing processes and configuring quality and Food Safety programs to improve sustainability, reduce cost, and develop best practices. This position requires the use of various statistical methods and assists in establishing process capability, sample plans and time-sensitive functional studies. The successful candidate will be able to provide statistical information for quality improvement by identifying testing methods and samples. They work to not only find nonconformance but also to find the cause and develop a solution.

- 207 sheet management
- Execute technical training (part of TT&T plan)
- Support trainers/ instructors when developing training materials
- HACCP Flow maps
- MSAs for CTQ plan
- QA Mfg. Stds
- Metal detector validations
- SPC SOPs
- Sampling procedures per CTP/CTQ
- PAPAS
- Build capabilities in the VSU team
- Track all planned activities related to Quality and ensure execution against the VSU Master Plan
Job Tasks / Duties
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Follow all safety regulations.
- Support and adhere to all system procedures and Company policies / procedures.
- Identify, develop and implement systems that will assure product conformance to specifications.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits as needed.
- Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes.
- Monitoring, testing and inspecting products to make sure they meet specified standards.
- Reviews impact of design and material changes to facility's Plans and updates accordingly
- Manages calibration program for all laboratory instruments throughout facility
- Leads investigations for critical consumer and customer complaints
- Leads training on quality and Food Safety topic
- Work with the production, engineering, and R&D teams to implement any new testing criteria, Food Safety, and quality methods/programs.
- Establishes statistical confidence, and statistical reliability while developing sampling plans that maintains statistical process controls.
- Analyzes and summarizing data by completing hypothesis to provide reports, and making recommendations.
- Participate on continuous improvement teams.
- Must perform additional duties assigned by Quality Management.
Job Type: Contract
Salary: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
