About the Role:
We are seeking a Food Safety and Quality Systems Supervisor to join our dynamic team in Augusta, GA. In this pivotal role, you will be an integral part of the Ferrero Quality Organization, responsible for driving the implementation of Food Safety and Quality systems. Your focus will be on ensuring compliance with FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act) and Ferrero standards at our Augusta facility. Additionally, you will collaborate with Ferrero Central Quality to support similar programs at two other U.S. bakeries located in Florence, KY and Louisville, KY.
Main Responsibilities:
- Oversee Food Safety: Maintain documents, review consumer complaints, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead audit preparations.
- Quality Assurance: Act as a backup for reviewing incoming materials and COAs, maintain SOPs, and support quality reviews.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, complete required training, and ensure team compliance with safety standards.
- Purchasing and Inventory: Manage purchase requisitions, maintain allergen consumables inventory, and monitor QA budget.
- Quality Standards Implementation: Drive the implementation of Food Safety and Quality systems in collaboration with central quality teams.
- Documentation Management: Create and update Food Safety Procedures and manage quality documentation.
- Training Development: Develop and conduct employee training programs on Food Safety, fraud, and defense.
- Audit Coordination: Plan and execute internal audits and maintain quality certifications.
- KPI Monitoring: Track process indicators, consumer complaints, and report on action plan progress.
- 25% travel to other Ferrero locations.
Who we are looking for:
- 4+ years of experience in quality assurance and Quality & Food Safety systems management within a food manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a related field is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of Food Safety programs such as GFSI and cGMP’s is required.
- PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) and FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act) training.
- Familiarity with SQF (Safe Quality Food) standards – FSSC 22000 certification is a plus.
- Internal auditing experience is an asset.
- Proficiency in root cause analysis.
- Ability to conduct presentations and facilitate training sessions.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
