POSITION SUMMARY
At San Pedro Fish Market, the Food Runner is responsible for providing our guests with exceptional hospitality by
delivering their orders directly from the kitchen to the table. All positions within our organization participate in
a team-oriented style of work by assisting one another to create a harmonious experience for the guest and a
fun and exciting shift for each crew member. This position requires a swift work pace, passion for participating
in a great guest experience, and cultivating return guests. All position responsibilities must be
performed in accordance with city, state, federal and Company policy.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Grooming, Dress Code and Work Attitude:
Report to work appropriately dressed and groomed for your position, in accordance with the Employee
Handbook.
Maintain a polished and professional appearance at all times throughout the work shift.
Always present a professional, warm, welcoming, and approachable demeanor, with a positive attitude,
(towards all) throughout the work shift.
2. Compliance and Service:
Provide guests with excellent hospitality, offering your assistance whenever necessary.
Deliver orders to the correct guest table swiftly and with amazing service.
Assist with clearing and cleaning tables throughout the guests stay as well as immediately upon
departure.
Ensure food is served in accordance with proper safety standards.
When delivering alcoholic beverages, ensure guests have been checked for proper identification.
Adapt to changing guest volume levels with a sense of urgency.
Perform opening, closing and side work ensuring that the opening and closing checklists are accurately
and efficiently completed.
Manage multiple tasks at the same time while providing (equally) excellent service, efficiency, and
cheerfulness. If you are overwhelmed in any way, immediately notify management. Additional
resources will be provided. Do not jeopardize a positive guest experience by trying to cover everything
yourself, when additional resources would ensure guest satisfaction and result in positive reviews and
return visits.
Comply with all city, state, federal and Company food and beverage regulations, alcohol control
policies, sanitation guidelines, and safety policies. Promptly report violations or concerns to
management.
Other duties as assigned by management.
3. Human Resources and Administration:
Actively engage in TEAM WORK.
Always keep a positive work attitude and friendly (approachable) demeanor while displaying your
ability to work well with coworkers.
Clock-in and out for each work day properly.
Clock-in upon arrival;
Clock-out when leaving for your meal period(s), or other personal time away from work;
Clock-in upon return from your meal period(s) or other personal time away from work; and
Clock-out when the work day has ended and no more work tasks will be performed.
Take duty-free meal periods and 10-minute breaks in accordance with the Employee Handbook.
Immediately notify a manager or HR if you feel you are not able to take a duty-free meal period or
10-minute break for any reason.
Assist in the completion of day-to-day housekeeping, such as cleaning and organizing work areas.
Attend and participate in all mandatory staff meetings.
Recommend process improvements to a manager.
Participate in implementing approved process improvements as requested by management.
Immediately report any concerns or suspicions regarding harassment, discrimination, retaliation,
and/or safety concerns in the workplace to any manager, HR, or other senior management.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent.
1+ year related experience in a similar work environment.
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.
Current Food Handlers Card and LEAD Card.
Current CA Responsible Beverage Service Certificate.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with others.
Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays and overtime.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
Ability to read, interpret, and understand an extensive variety of work-related instructions and
documents pertaining to Company operations, safety, finance, HR, and payroll.
Basic computer skills, including Internet use, E-mail, and typing skills.
Ability to use the Companys timekeeping system and point of service system.
Ability and willingness to learn and apply new work skill sets and concepts.
Working knowledge of city, state, and federal hospitality laws and regulations.
WORKING CONDITIONS

1. Normal restaurant work environment for both indoor and outdoor service;
2. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud;
3. The work environment is tight and may require working in close quarters;
4. Work may involve a moderate level of stress; and
5. Physical demands are present during the full work shift (8+ hours), with the exception of duty-free meal
periods and 10-minute breaks, to include:
Visual and auditory acuity adequate to frequently monitor guest activity, use a computer and
electronic equipment, assess work tasks to be completed, and read work-related documents;
Standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and stooping;
Intermittent overhead and low reaching, grasping objects; and
Lifting and carrying 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly.
