Food Production Quality Assurance Tech ($500.00 Sign-On Bonus)

The QA Technicians will be key contributors to the success of the Company. This position will be instrumental in seeing that Goodheart maintains Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and addresses quality issues that arise from our customers. This position is responsible for providing an internal service verifying that all quality and food safety requirements are achieved.

• Pay Rate: Starting at $15.50/hr
• Sign-On Bonus: $500.00*
• Pay Frequency: Weekly (Friday)
• Work Week: Monday to Friday (some Saturdays)
• Schedule: Varies (Morning and Evening Shifts Available)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct material grading.
• Perform Raw Material Inspection.
• Perform measurements for pH, temperature and weights.
• Perform test for free fatty acid levels of fryer oils according to schedule.
• Monitor the facility operation to ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices and HACCP.
• Conduct daily operational audits.
• Conduct glass and brittle plastic audits.
• Collect samples for USDA and customer COA tests.
• Document and record all test results and perform re-checks as appropriate.
• Communicate test results to operators and supervisors as applicable.
• Performs pre-operational inspections
• Provides training to team members
• Provides coverage due to absences
• Conducts environmental test and schedules pick up with 3rd party lab
• Completes project assignments
• Reliable transportation to / from work.
• Excellent attendance
• Additional duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma; 2 years of college preferred.
• A minimum of two years’ experience in a quality role in a food manufacturing facility; preferably meat and poultry.

Skills / Proficiencies

• Has held a quality technician role in a food manufacturing facility.
• Able to effectively interface with all levels of the organization.
• Proficient in Microsoft office and database entry.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and workload effectively.
• Ability to work under pressure and tight timelines
• Team player with a positive, helpful attitude.
