Food & Nutrition Education Director: Part-Time

Organization Overview:
SNACC is a dynamic non-profit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of children and families in underserved communities through food education. Our mission is to empower youth with the knowledge and skills necessary to make healthy eating choices, fostering both personal and community well-being.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Education Director on a contractor basis, who specializes in nutrition and childhood education. This role involves supporting our team in the development of engaging and impactful curriculum content, training staff, and ensuring our programs align with the needs and standards of the NYC Department of Education (DOE). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nutrition, a deep understanding of childhood education, and familiarity with the NYC DOE's structure, initiatives, processes, and functions.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Childhood Education, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and educational training, specifically related to nutrition and children.
• Tangible experience in the nutrition and food space.
• Deep understanding of the NYC Department of Education's structure, initiatives, and educational standards.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of effectively training staff and engaging with diverse audiences.
• Creative, outside-of-the-box thinker with a passion for health education and empowering youth.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of initiative and motivation.

Contract Details:

• This is a part-time, contractor position on an as-needed basis.
