Food & Beverage Associates (Server, Event Staff) Week Or Weekend

Cowan's Ford is a private, nonprofit golf club that was founded in 1963 by Duke Energy employees. They wanted a great place for themselves to play golf and so they built the first nine holes using Donald Ross principles. Cowan’s Ford is a family-oriented club with amenities that include a beautiful championship golf course, generous practice facilities, casual dining facilities, a junior Olympic-size pool, tennis courts, and a private boat ramp and dock.

The F&B Associate is responsible for providing exceptional service, welcoming Members & Guests, taking orders, delivering food to guests. Associates are expected to answer questions regarding the menu, work closely with all other Food & Beverage staff to ensure that the shift is running smoothly. Associates offer suggestions and recommendations to guest, making for a unique and enjoyable dining experience. Associates are expected to go above and beyond for all members. Below you will find a breakdown of expectations for the job but not limited to.

Work diligently in order to achieve outstanding service quality and always SMILE, be polite at all times and if a problem arises of any kind that you are unsure of then contact Management or next in command for assistance.

Have strong customer-service skills with an “above and beyond” attitude.

Check with guests regularly to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.

English reading, writing and communication skills.

Must be able to articulate clear greetings and farewells to guests, as well as being able to understand requests for assistance.

Must be able to clearly communicate guests’ needs to Servers, Bussers, Managers, etc.

Must be able to hear well in a loud environment in order to answer telephone and respond to guest requests.

Must be able to operate computer and sales system, input orders, ring up customers and keep your register balanced.

Check identification to ensure that guests meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.

Keep service areas clean at all times and reset tables as needed.

Set up food stations to prepare for the next shift or for large parties.

Ability to answer phones to take call-ahead orders or to-go orders.

Adapt to a fast-paced work environment as well as work in or around small crowds with confidence.

Be able to stand on your feet for the entirety of a scheduled shift and move up and down staircases as well as work quickly in a confined area.

Must be able to reach, bend, and stoop and handle working outdoor events (subject to weather changes and all elements) as well as operate the beverage cart throughout the year.

Be dependable, responsible and team oriented as you will need to work with staff within your department as well as outside of your department.

Must have reliable transportation(We are not on a bus route) and must pass a background check.
