Food and Beverage Shift Lead

We are seeking an energetic and motivated Food & Beverage Supervisor to lead our food & beverage team in providing exceptional service at Boston's ultimate indoor LEGO experience!
About the Role
As the Food & Beverage Supervisor, reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering world-class customer service within our attraction Café. Your responsibilities include ensuring all team members are well-trained in company standards encompassing guest experience, cleanliness, food safety, and financial controls. You'll develop effective schedules, manage inventory, and uphold the visual appeal of assigned locations.
This role also encompasses manager-on-duty shifts, overseeing daily operations across all departments. Compensation for this dynamic opportunity is $20.00 per hour.
F&B Operations
- Manage the full operation of the counter-service café, offering hot options such as burgers and pizza, Starbucks® coffee service, snacks, ice cream, and cold beverages.
- Liaise with F&B suppliers, placing orders, and controlling wastage within budget constraints.
- Ensure Starbucks® standards are consistently met.
- Maintain superior cleaning and hygiene standards, adhering to record-keeping protocols.
- Monitor temperature checks logs, adhering to Merlin Food Safety Standards and allergen requirements.
- Exceed spend per head targets and maintain all staff Food Handling local area qualifications.
- Ensure compliance with local food licenses at all times.
Coordinate Training of F&B Hosts
- Initiate and organize all host training and evaluations, maintaining comprehensive records.
- Uphold the highest levels of safety and compliance among retail and food & beverage staff.
- Empower team members to deliver outstanding customer service, facilitating guest recovery as needed.
- Lead and motivate staff to embody a "guest-obsessed" mentality.
Create Weekly Schedules
- Develop and manage schedules for over 20 host positions.
- Forecast staffing needs during trading periods.
Employee Development
- Foster team members' growth through team-building activities, praise, coaching, training, and discipline according to company standards.
- Implement programs to engage staff, enhance performance, and provide incentives and recognition.
Manager On Duty for Attraction
- Oversee smooth operations of all departments, including Admissions, Guest Experience, Food and Beverage, and Retail.
- Efficiently address issues throughout the day by facilitating communication between relevant departments.
- Manage queues and guest flow within the busiest areas of the attraction safely and optimally.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, with two (2) years of related experience in Food & Beverage.
- Career-oriented individual with a background in leading teams in the hospitality or attractions industry.
- Guest-first mindset with excellent verbal and written communication skills, fostering a collaborative team atmosphere.
- Flexibility and adaptability in implementing new operational procedures or systems within an innovative, fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of cash-handling, point-of-sale automated systems, and inventory/sales auditing.
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
- Open availability, especially during peak business days on weekends, holidays, and school breaks.
