Overview:
The Integrated Operations Support Division (IOSD) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) is seeking qualified applications for the position of Performance Assurance (PA) Group Lead. The PA Group Lead will lead Facility and Operations’ (F&O) efforts to provide directorate-level performance monitoring, identify and define strategic process improvement projects, ensure consistency and relevancy of F&O’s training and qualification programs, and oversight of F&O’s document control.
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide direct line management of training, procedure, and performance monitoring teams.
- Support development and implementation of F&O’s enhanced supervisor training program.
- Provide oversight and coordination of F&O’s input into the Annual Lab Plan and ORNL’s laboratory performance management program.
- Perform or coordinate assessments related to the risks of the division. Support assessments by external and internal independent organizations. Create and monitor action plans in response to division and independent assessment reports.
- Develop and maintain F&O’s job role-specific qualification and training programs with priority on Frontline Supervisors.
- Maintain and identify opportunities for improvement of F&O’s procedure development and document control.
- As part of the IOSD leadership team, identify opportunities for integrated performance tracking, enhanced training/qualification programs, and document control to complement the Reliability, Maintainability, and Sustainability (RM&S) and Integrated Services groups.
- Provide mentoring and career growth opportunities to group members.

Basic Qualifications:
- BS degree in a science, engineering, or technical-related field with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience leading technical projects or teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in preparation and conduct of assessments.
- Experience with the Department of Energy Occurrence Reporting and Processing System
- The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a diverse group of people having a wide range of technical and support capabilities.
- Excellent oral and written communications, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Skills of a seasoned technical leader and the ability to work with all organization levels.
- Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills to present ideas, findings, and recommendations in a logical, concise manner.

Special Requirements:
Work involves various physical requirements and working conditions. As such, a pre-hire physical will be required after an offer is made.
Q clearance: This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy. As such, this position is a Workplace Substance Abuse (WSAP) testing designated position. WSAP positions require passing a pre-placement drug test and participation in an ongoing random drug testing program.
