Floral Studio Assistant

Job Overview:
We are seeking a Floral Studio Assistant for our floral design studio based in Lanham, MD. This is a part time, seasonal position with hours mostly Sunday-Friday but will fluctuate based off events and weddings booked. This positions main focus is to keep our busy studio clean and running smoothly. Studio Assistants help with everything from loading and unloading trucks to processing flowers to washing buckets. If assisting with creation of a wedding day and seeing the behind the scenes process of an event come to life sound like your dream job then this is the position for you!

Responsibilities:

• Assist with process, prepping, and maintaining flowers for upcoming events including but not limited to processing flowers into buckets, refreshing bucket water, soaking oasis, pulling flower recipes for designers and painting florals
• Clean and maintain inventory, tools, and the studio including but not limited to washing buckets, sweeping the studio, cleaning glassware, taking out the trash and sorting recycle
• Picking up rental trucks, loading and unloading trucks
• Making supply runs and flower picks ups from local farmers and wholesalers
• Pulling inventory and supplies for upcoming events
• Packing designs and ensuring quality of florals after they are designed in the cooler
• Make floral deliveries in company car

Requirements:

• Positive attitude and team player
• Highly organized and efficient
• Excellent communication skills
• Valid Driver's license and able/willing to drive a cargo van around DC/MD/VA
• High School Diploma

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
