Floral Sales Associate

We have an immediate opportunity for a Floral Sales Associate for weekends. This position reports to the Store Manager. Studley's is Rochester's oldest flower shop. And there is a reason for that! We have an immediate opening in retail sales. The person hired will primarily work in the florist store and will pro-actively engage and assist customers with floral purchases. This job requires a high level of enthusiasm and empathy!

The primary duties include but are not limited to the following:

Job Responsibilities:

• Sell flowers and plants in person and on the phone using our sales techniques and technology.
• Provide outstanding customer service and contribute to sales growth.
• Resolve customer questions and concerns
• Contribute to maintaining the consistent high quality of our merchandise
• Process website orders in a timely and accurate manner.

• Maintain clean working area in the retail store, cooler, and production areas

• Understand proper flower fundamental handling techniques as well as basic plant care knowledge

Other duties to support the floral department, including unpacking shipments, washing buckets, general cleaning of design area.

Candidate Profile:

You have strong interpersonal skills, with a high level of enthusiasm, self-motivation, and empathy. You are creative. You can work effectively as a member of a team-oriented environment. You can engage with customers in person and on the phone. You have strong problem-solving skills. You have the capacity for independent learning and to quickly adapt to new skills. You have experience using a variety of computer and technological devices such as tablets, smart phones, web-based POS system, electronic file sharing. You can regularly prioritize and manage time effectively.

Other:

• Part-time position: core schedule is Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday

• Peak business periods will require extended workdays and work weeks
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
• This position requires working on your feet
