Job Description
We are hiring a Float Pool Manager to join our passionate inpatient team! The Float Pool Manager organizes and administers individualized, professional supervision of all nursing staff in the Float Pool. This person will be responsible for:
- Supporting the scheduling of the nursing staff of throughout the hospital.
- Working as a team with other managers to serve as the administrative authority for the smooth function of the hospital.
- Supervise RNs, LPNs, Mental Health Technicians, and Mental Health Aides in the Float Pool.
- Provide clinical expertise in the management of psychiatric care and behavior management techniques.
- Ensure compliance with policy, procedures and all federal, state and local laws, rules and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate is someone who is:
- Able to organize, direct and evaluate the work of nursing and support staff and facility activities on a 24-hour psychiatric unit.
- Able to analyze a situation and adopt a course of action.
- Able to demonstrate tact, diplomacy, patience, and compassion.
- Able to establish and maintain working relationships with other mental health professionals, subordinate staff, co-workers and other agencies and organizations.

Requirements:EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE;
Required- Bachelors degree required. Must have at least 2 years' clinical experience with proven record of mentoring, leading, or training a team.
Preferred- Prior experience working in pediatrics or psychiatry strongly preferred. Supervisory experience in hospital/residential setting strongly preferred.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE
Licensure in a relative field to pediatric behavioral health strongly preferred.
