Fleet Manager

Job Description: As a Fleet Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating our entire fleet of vehicles, ensuring operational efficiency, compliance with government regulations, and the maintenance of fleet safety standards. A critical part of your role will be to manage our team of skilled mechanics, ensuring timely and effective maintenance and repair of our fleet.

Fleet Manager job duties include:

· Oversee the management and maintenance of the company's fleet of bucket trucks, pick ups, digger derricks, excavators, and trailers

· Supervise and coordinate the work activities of mechanical maintenance, repair, and installation personnel in the garage headquarters remote field equipment.

· Plan and lay out work to be performed by mechanics, using Fleetio and Verizon Connect software, Driver’s Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs), blueprints, diagrams, sketches, or other specifications.

· Estimate material or labor requirements for assigned projects.

· Inspect completed work for conformance to all D.O.T. specifications and quality standards.

· Investigate complaints received from operating personnel and take corrective action, as necessary.

· Assist workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment and recommend corrective action.

· Keep time records of direct reports and prepare reports on performance and hours worked.

· Confer with other members of the operating company to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.

· Provide input and recommendations to management on fleet repair and replacement.

· Maintain D.O.T., yearly state vehicle inspections, and boom dielectric testing programs

· Ensure all vehicles are properly licensed, registered, and insured

Fleet Manager Job Requirements:

A Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing the work of The Fleet Mechanics and technicians. This person may also be responsible for managing projects and ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget. To be a Fleet Mechanic Manager, one must have a thorough knowledge of D.O.T rules and regulations, must have experience with diesel equipment, and preferably have experience with ariel lift equipment (bucket trucks), and working knowledge of fluid hydraulic equipment. Class A CDL endorsement preferred. This person must be proficient in record keeping, inventory management, and able to supervise, coach, and train direct reports.

Required Qualifications:

Proven experience in fleet management or a similar role
Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair procedures
Familiarity with fleet management software systems
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
