Fixed Equipment Reliability Engineer
The Fixed Equipment Reliability Engineer will perform engineering services for all Refinery and Power Plant Fixed Equipment for projects, maintenance, turnarounds, and complex technical assignments to ensure safety, reliability, and integrity. Fixed Equipment includes (but not limited to): Heat Exchangers (shell & tube and fin fan coolers), Pressure Vessels, Process & Utility Piping Systems, Power Boilers, Critical Check Valves, Slide Valves, etc.
Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):
The successful candidate will have experience in performing the following essential duties, including but not limited to:
• Provide mechanical technical support to the area team and others throughout the refinery as needed including analysis of failed items, recommendations of design changes to prevent repeat failures or extend run lengths.
• Daily effective communication via email or verbal with area team and others throughout the refinery as needed.
• Take multi-disciplinary approach to projects that involve a high degree of interaction between departments.
• Mentor and provide direction to less experienced engineers.
• Provide technical support for the installation of Fixed Equipment related projects in the field.
• Support the Turnaround organization as required.
• Work with area business team to improve unit reliability through maintenance work.
• Work closely with the area Fixed Equipment Inspector to perform fitness-for-service evaluation of items identified by the ongoing mechanical integrity program.
• Responsible for the management of change (MOC) procedures for all mechanical changes and projects in the assigned area.
• Participate in Process Hazard Analysis (HAZOP) and Process Safety Management (PSM) reviews for assigned units.
• Develop and revise current engineering standards.
• Participate in and lead various Root Cause Failure Analysis initiatives.

Education and/or Experience Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering preferred. Working knowledge of applicable ASME, API and NBIC codes and standards preferred. Proficiency in use of API 580/581 Risk Based Inspection methodologies preferred. Working knowledge of PCMS and SAP preferred.
