JOB SUMMARY
Assists with overseeing Group Fitness/Personal Training, Membership & Programming at the Mojave Fitness Center. Works closely with the Program Coordinator to ensure smooth operations and reports to the Project Manager. Responsible for participating in programming and events in order to ensure optimal performance. Responsible for communicating and upholding company standards. Provides safe, motivating, and effective exercise instruction with excellent customer service skills, strong communication skills, and the ability to motivate others.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Membership & Customer Service
Accurate tracking, reporting, administration
Focus on retention strategies and new memberships
Communication to new, current, and canceled members
Upsell personal training/other services during sign up process and schedule fitness assessments
Add members to our newsletter when they join
Provide excellent customer service
Facility tours
Making outbound calls to schedule tours and follow up on prospective members
Create monthly membership goals
Group Fitness
Teach group fitness classes
Develop weekly/monthly in-person/virtual group fitness schedule
Update group fitness schedule monthly into Boost Portal and on website
Create group fitness schedule programming and structure to maximize effectiveness of classes
Create accountability challenges for participants
Track and report group fitness statistics and use this data to include in quarterly report and develop future schedules
Coordinate group fitness coverage and finding coverage for classes
Work with Project Manager on recruiting/hiring new group fitness instructors (including interviewing, auditions & training)
Develop and edit group fitness rules and regulations regularly
Work with Project Manager on ensuring all instructors sign and acknowledge
Encourage member participation in programs, group fitness classes and events
Personal Training
Programming
Create and send out monthly newsletter to include programs, group fitness schedule and a member of the month
Weekly/biweekly communications to members to remind about upcoming events
Develop small program(s) monthly and larger program quarterly
Create annual programming plan
Add programming to Boost portal and website if applicable
Administrative
Providing support in the development of reports and presentations, as required by management
Keeping Mojave email account organized and archive old emails
Brainstorm and implement ideas to streamline operations and improve processes
Assist with providing statistics and information for the quarterly report
Group fitness & Programming
Work with Program Coordinator on SWOT & COE (annually)
Obtain and create event center calendar monthly
Equipment
Overall cleaning and maintenance and logging daily in drive
Assist with monthly deep cleaning of entire gym
Organize and perform and file equipment inspection monthly
Organize/prioritize equipment request list
Place signage on equipment that’s malfunctioning and report to Program Coordinator
Perform other duties as assigned
Computer literacy in Google Workplace: Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides
Emergency protocols
CPR and AED certification - required
Group exercise certification and/or experience - preferred
- National personal training certification - preferred
BS in Exercise Science or a related field - preferred
